NORTH ADAMS -- Jennifer Ferrari's goal off a corner kick in the 67th minute was all the MCLA women's soccer team needed to hang on for a 1-0 win over Fitchburg State on Saturday.
Danielle Heinsohn made four saves to preserve the shutout for MCLA. The hosts out shot their guest 13-7 and had four corner kicks.
The Trailblazers return to the field Wednesday against visiting Western New England University. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

NORTH ADAMS -- The Trailblazers beat Johnson State College 3-0 after falling 3-2 to Bard College in Saturday's Tri-match.
In the win, MCLA's Courtney Parent and Amanda Fleming each had five aces. The Trailblazers won in straight sets 25-18, 25-4, 25-13.
Melanie Abercrombie her team with four kills. Tara Cranny Darien Quick and Brittany Kish each had three kills, as well.
Bard College was able to rally from being down 2-1 for the victory. Bard won 23-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20 and 15-8.
Anfelica Perfido had 12 kills and Kish recorded 27 aces and 12 digs.
The Trailblazers travel to Mass Maritime today to face Becker and MMA.

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Bridget Gallagher scored in the 14th minute and the Ephs hung on to beat Bowdoin College 1-0 Sunday.
The victory moves Williams to 7-2-1 overall and keeps them unbeaten in the NESCAC with a 6-0-1 record.

Williams women's soccer outshoots Amherst by a 12-10 margin
On Saturday, Abby Morss scored twice in the second half to help the Williams' women's soccer team rally from an early two-goal deficit to earn a 3-2 women over rival Amherst on Saturday.
Sarah Brink got the Ephs on the board just before halftime before Morss took over in the second half. Her game-winner came in the 90th minute.
Williams fell behind 2-0 after Amherst scored twice in a six-minute span late in the opening half. Brink scored just a minute later.
Laura Wann got the win for Williams, making four stops. Hannah Van Wetter allowed two goals and made two saves for the Ephs.

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Ephs had to play two extra periods, but they stayed undefeated on the season with a 3-2 double-overtime victory over Bowdoin on Sunday.
Chris Seitz scored an unassisted goal in the 106th minute to grab the victory.
Bowdoin held a 10-7 advantage in corners.
Peter Morrell made seven saves to earn the win.
On Saturday, Williams played to a 0-0 draw with Amherst.
Amherst outshot the visitors 25-9 and had two more corner kicks, but it didn't matter. Than Finan made six saves on the day to earn the shutout and move his record to 3-0-2. Thomas Bull had to make just two saves for the Lord Jeffs.

CLINTON, N.Y. -- Williams College men's golf coach Rick Pohle gets to go out a winner.
Pohle's Ephs claimed the Hamilton Invitational title on Sunday in Pohle's final tournament as the Eph head coach.
Pohle has been the head coach at Williams for 29 years, only the third golf coach in school history, and had a 1,96-541-8 record. The Ephs have won 10 NESCAC titles on his watch and made 10 NCAA Tournament appearances.
On Sunday, the Ephs beat RPI by two strokes to claim the two-day event. Williams finished with a score of 613, while RPI had 615. New York University was third with 619.
The difference between Williams and RPI could be found in the fact that three Ephs finished in the top 10, compared to two for RPI. The Ephs' Dylan Dethier finished third with a 151, one stroke behind RPI's Grant Rosener. Williams' Tony Liu shot 154 and was one stroke behind RPI's Brandon Mader. But Williams' Michael Stone shot a 155 to finish eighth while Ephs Matt McCarron and Jake Goldenring tied for 13th with 157s, to help insure the Williams win.

LEWISTON, Maine -- Williams lost its second game in embarrassing fashion, as Bates pounded the Ephs, 33-6 on Saturday. It was the second consecutive win over Williams for the Bobcats.
The Ephs gave the game away in a flurry of turnovers, including three interceptions and two fumbles. The host team capitalized on a Williams fumble early in the first quarter, as Bates quarterback Trevor Smith hit end Kevin Davis for a 36-yard score five minutes into the contest.
An interception set up Bates second score on the next series. Bates embarked on a 14-play, 47-yard drive that culminated in a 12-yard run by Smith. The home side expanded that lead on another long drive, this time ending in a 29-yard field goal by the Bobcats to push the lead to 17-0, which was the halftime score.
The Bobcats punched in a pair of scores in the third quarter. A 17-yard field goal pushed the margin to 33-0 early in the fourth.
