NORTH ADAMS -- The Drury Class of 1962 celebrated its 50th reunion Friday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Sept. 30 with activities throughout the weekend.

On Friday night, 55 classmates and guests gathered at Desperados.

Forty-five people enjoyed lunch Saturday at noon at Lickety Split. While some toured Mass MoCA, others played golf at Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown and a contingent visited Nathan Drury’s grave in the town of Florida.

On Saturday afternoon, numerous classmates attended the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Judy Benedetti Noel and Nancy Weslowski Benoit served as gift bearers. Justyna Steuer Carlson read the names of 17 deceased classmates during the Prayer of the Faithful.

Seventy-five dined Saturday night at the Richmond Grille inside the Holiday Inn. EASE provided DJ services. Special guest was former faculty member Robert Kove. Class President Ed Noel was emcee.

Many prizes were awarded including golf to Santo Lampiasi, Shirley Estes Mullen, Roger Burdick and Noel. Traveling the farthest distance to the event was John Netherwood of Tustin, Calif. The youngest grandchild award went to John Crofts, whose grandson was born Sept. 9. Great-grandchildren prizes went to Ernie Lamarre, Tony Donovan, John Pasierbiak and Dick Plumb. First response on the same day in 2011 went to Bill Cullen and Donovan. Ethel Chambers Dillensneider was the 50th to respond. Trivia prizes went to Alan Horbal,

The program closed with singing of the alma mater and the class ode written and led by Clermont. Updated class directories and scrapbook pages totaling 19 full loose-leaf notebooks kept for 50 years by Carlson were distributed.

On Sunday morning, 35 patronized the Eagles Fall Foliage Parade breakfast before staying for the parade or taking off for all parts of the country since, in addition to California, Drury alumni returned from Florida, Virginia, Illinois, New York, New Hampshire and many parts of Massachusetts.
