Green light off for intersection: ADAMS -- The funding rug has been pulled out from under a capital improvement project, Selectmen reported at a meeting Wednesday, leaving plans to install a roundabout at the Columbia and Friend streets intersection in jeopardy.

A Metropolitan Planning Organization meeting in Pittsfield on Tuesday confirmed that Adams’ yet-unused 2004 federal earmark of over $600,000 now belongs to Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA).

Department of Children and Families, the Children’s Trust Fund of Massachusetts and the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, opened its doors in March inside the coalition’s offices, offering a variety of support groups, workshops and programs aimed at strengthening local families.

On Thursday, DCF Commissioner Angelo McClain toured the center during an open house with Brian Cummings, DCF director of community development; Laurie Sullivan, director of the DCF Berkshire area office and Ray Burke, director of the Pioneer Valley area offices.

Friday night lights? NORTH ADAMS -- High school football could return to the Noel Field Athletic Complex in two to three years, if funding from the state Parkland Acquisition and Renovations for Communities grant program comes through over the next few years.

"It’s something that’s been talked about over the last five years," Community Development Director Michael Nuvallie said Wednesday during a meeting of the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission. "It’s been in the city’s facilities development plan for quite some time. Since that plan was made, the city has acquired many more parcels of land and added them to the athletic complex."

Dedication to Davis: WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Multicultural Center at Williams College will be rededicated as the Davis Center on Saturday. Activities surrounding the rededication will begin Friday.
