STAMFORD, Vt. -- A.2.C. Busbee Williams Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Williams, is home on leave after completing the special U.S. Air Force course for communications technicians at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas. On Nov. 8, Williams will report to Charleston, S.C., before transfer to a three-year tour of duty in Germany. He enlisted in the Air Force Nov. 20, 1961. NORTH ADAMS -- The Berkshire Gas Co. announced the appointment of Anne Roberts of Williamstown as home service representative in its North Adams Division. She will advise and instruct area consumers in the proper use and care of gas appliances and will visit the homes of new purchasers of equipment.

ADAMS -- The four selected candidates for assistant principal of Hoosac Valley High School were interviewed by the school committee and a selection will be made soon. The opening was created when John Gallivan was promoted from assistant principal of Hoosac Valley to Cheshire School principal. The candidates are Craig Randall, Charles Little, Thomas Mawhinney and David Fiedler.

NORTH ADAMS -- Randy Morin and Bob Biros shared the offensive player of the week honors on the McCann football team. Morin carried 12 times for 94 yards in Saturday’s loss to Drury, and Biros gained 37 yards on nine carries. Matt Farrar, Mike Cyrulik, John Horn and Rich Bohl shared the defensive

NORTH ADAMS -- James Carollo of North Adams is among five Berkshire County residents who will receive the Silver Beaver Award from The Great Trails Council during a formal Court of Honor ceremony Nov. 24 in Pittsfield. The award is presented for noteworthy service to youth, to Scouting and to the community.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Two trustees are beginning terms on the Williams College board. Gregory Avis ‘80 of Palo Alto, Calif. begins five years as a term trustee. Delos Cosgrove III ‘62 of Hunting Valley, Ohio, was elected by members of the Williams College Society of Alumni to serve five years as an alumni trustee.
