Nearing the halfway mark: WILLIAMSTOWN -- Construction on the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute’s visitor, exhibition and conference center is just about 50 percent complete. Crews are working diligently to complete the roofing to ensure work on the project can continue through the winter.

Warren on the campaign trail: PITTSFIELD -- U.S. Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren sat down today for a meeting with the Transcript, its sister paper The Berkshire Eagle and WAMC/Northeast Public Radio.
Along with several issues, Warren detailed her work in the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and highlighted the importance of reining in health care costs in making her case for her bid against incumbent Sen. Scott Brown.

Annual clothing drive starts strong: ADAMS -- Resident Jeffrey Lefebvre began his 10th annual clothing drive to support homeless veterans on Sunday, Oct. 14, and already has 35 boxes of clothing to show for the effort.
For a decade, Lefebvre has supplied boxes upon boxes of locally gathered clothing to Soldier On, a nonprofit organization based in Leeds that is dedicated to helping homeless veterans.
"People have been very generous," Lefebvre said Saturday. "Every year, I’m amazed by how good they are."
