Spokeswoman Dot Joyce says Menino got back from an anniversary trip to Italy late Thursday and went to see his doctor because he wasn’t feeling well. His doctor admitted him to the hospital.

Joyce says he’s well enough to engage in decisions being made about the approaching superstorm, but he is not well enough to be out and about.

He’ll remain in the hospital at least through Monday.
