NORTH ADAMS -- Awards were presented members of Cub Scout Pack 60 at their monthly meeting Friday at Fort Massachusetts Hall at Central City. Bobcat pins were presented to James Newman, William Wise, Anthony Cermenaro, Den nis Haynes, Gary Gaud reau, Michael Martin, Francis Cardillo, Matthew McConnell, Lawrence Morris, Francis Gir ard, Steven Sacco, Robert Wolf rum and Ronald Andrews. Wolf badges went to Stephen Ther rien, Daniel Worcester, Daniel Billings, Frank Vigna and Step hen Nelson. NORTH ADAMS -- Area Boy Scouts yesterday were among 165 from Western Massachusetts presented the Ad Altare Dei medal, the highest scouting award of the Roman Catholic Church. The scouts are Edward Shartrand, Edwin Dassatti, Albert Man cuso Jr. and John Moresi of Troop 34 and Daniel Toniatta, Gary Lesniak and Mark Taylor of Troop 38.

NORTH ADAMS -- Linemen Mike Steward and John Horn share the McCann offensive player of the week honors, and Jay Giron and Joe Ellsworth are the players of the week on defense for the football game with Hoosac Valley. Steward was cited for "outstanding blocking," Horn was cited for blocking on the touchdown run of Randy Morin, Giron was in on 11 tackles and Ellsworth was in on 12 tackles.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Kenda Mutongi has been promoted to associate professor of history with tenure at Williams College. He promotion was effective July 1. Mutongi has taught at Williams since 1996. In addition to her role in the history department, she serves as chairwoman of the African and Middle Eastern Studies program.
NORTH ADAMS -- On Sept. 28 the Greylock Tigers 5-on-5 soccer team won two games and took a bronze medal at the junior 5-aside tournament in Oxford. Players were Sebastian Dawkins, Jimmy Kennedy, Cassandra Scrivens, Mike Gaffey, Mike Colette, Rachel Gyurasz, Jennifer Mans field and Corey O’Brien.
