FLORIDA -- Marilyn Willi ams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Williams of the town of Florida, and Lindsay Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Williams of Adams, will be two of the three Mass achusetts youngsters defending the state’s vegetable judging crown in national competition in Miami, Fla. in December. The girls are members of the Handy Helpers 4-H Club of Florida, directed by Frank Zappula. WILLIAMSTOWN -- Don na Poggi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Prima Poggi of 73 Water St., was among 63 El mira Col lege students who were honored for scholastic excellence at traditional Hon ors Convoc ation ceremonies. A senior at the college, Miss Pog gi spent her junior year studying at the Sorbonne, Ecole du Louvre, and Institut des Et udes Poli tiques in Paris.

NORTH ADAMS -- Law rence Senecal, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Senecal of 201 East Quincy St., retired Sept. 29 after over 23 years of military service. First Sgt. Senecal en tered the military May 14, 1964.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Three artists from the area won awards Friday at the 64th Annual Exhibition of Pittsfield Art League, Inc. at the Berkshire Museum. The Best in Show, Grumacher Plaque 1st Place Award went to Patricia Jeffreys of Williams town. The Charles Reid Mem orial Award was won by Frank Civello of Adams and hon or able mention went to Richard Heyer of

NORTH ADAMS -- In Pee-Wee Division youth football, the North Adams Cowboys Silver team downed Pittsfield CYC Blue, 22-14. Brett Denn ing scored the first touchdown and Cody Wemette and Matt Stimpson each scored a touchdown. Denning added both con versions. Chris Hilchey, Robert Jutras and Stephen Tworig blocked well for the Cowboys.
ADAMS -- In Junior Football, the Adams Jets lost to Southern Berkshire, 24-14. Casey Koperniak scored all the points for the Jets. De fensively, Kyle Wilson, Benny Alibozek, Stan Mec zywor and Mitch Bourdon led the way.
