NORTH ADAMS -- North Adams Triad held its regular monthly meeting Oct. 24 at the American Legion, with 47 members and guests attending.

Lt. David Sacco, of the North Adams Police Department, spoke about recent scams and phone calls people are receiving. He gave the phone numbers to get on and to add cell phone numbers to the Do Not Call list. For Massachusetts, 1-866-231-2255, and for national, 1-866-382-1222.

Deputy Sheriff Bob Wadsworth spoke about the goings-on at the Sheriffs Department. He also scheduled a tour of the jail in April 2013. The sheriff department’s phone number is 413-443-7220.

The annual Christmas luncheon will be held Dec. 19 at noon at the Boston Seafood Rest aurant. The cost is $15 each and is due at the Nov. 28 meeting. Checks should be made out to North Adams Triad.

One bus is nearly filled for the Hu Ke Lau trip, with only a few more seats left. The cost is $65. The bus will leave North Adams at 9:15 a.m. Also, the new schedule will be sent to all members by the first of December.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, at noon, at the American Legion. The guest speakers will be Cindy Shogry-Raimer, senior vice president of risk management, and William O’Connell, security officer at Greylock Federal Credit Union. They will speak about banking scams.
