Editor's note: It gives us great pleasure to continue our Thanksgiving tradition of providing turkey cooking instructions courtesy of North County kindergarten students.
This year, we thank Cheshire Elementary School teachers Robin Poirot and Heather Emerson, Clarksburg Elementary School teacher Cathy Howe and of course, all of their students, for their help.

Robin Poirot's students
Sofia Francesconi: We get our turkey at Target. It will be about 80 pounds. Once my dad threw it up in the air and caught it on the plate! Put it in the oven at about 83 degrees for 43 seconds.
Maryn Cappiello: We get our turkey at the market. Mom cooks at 20 degrees for 50 minutes. When it beeps we take it out of the oven. I am going to make apple pie with Granny.
Jeffery Bourassa: Our turkey is pink and square. It weighs one pound. You put it in the oven at a little hot. Cook it one minute so it will be just cold so that you don't have to blow on it.
Griffen Lancia: My dad shoots our turkey at the hunting place where you shoot targets. Just use a BB gun and it will sting the turkey a little, and take the feathers off and cook it for 11 days at 6 degrees.
Noah White: I am going to buy my turkey at Big Y. We will get a big one that weighs about 8 pounds. Just cook it for 3 minutes at kind of hot. Once my mom gave me a big leg and I ate it.
Irelyn
Sam McGrath: We go to the Turkey Shoot with my Dad and Brian and my dogs. We stuff it with pumpkin seeds and cook it for 12 hours at 9 degrees. I put gravy and ice cream on mine. We eat it with cereal.
Cole Maxwell: My Grampa shoots our turkey and cuts the feathers off with real sharp scissors.He stuffs with something but I don't what it is. It weighs about 6 "inches" and it cooks for 8 hours for 2 degrees.
Kendall Babcock: We get our turkey at Price Chopper. It will weigh about 20 pounds. Mommy will cook it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 11 degrees. All the people eat with us!
Nathan Kondel: Our turkey comes from Meme. I bring my toys over while she cooks. She stuffs it with chocolate chip cookies for stuffing and it is so good. Then she cools it for about an hour and asks who wants to have the first piece and we raise our hands and I always win.
Gabriella Hasberg: Our turkey comes about up to my knee and weighs about 50 pounds. Then you just cook it in a regular oven for 1 hour at about 40 degrees. My favorite part is the inside out.
Parker Hart: Our turkey is about as big as a Christmas present. I am usually downstairs playing pingpong when my Gramma cooks but I think she cooks it for 7 hours at 10% hot. She wears giant gloves, takes it out and puts it on a plate with gravy and popcorn.
Olivia Whitney: My Aunt Carol gets a real big turkey that weighs about 50 pounds. When it is done, she puts it out to cool. Then we eat it with noodles and sauce. There are even some meatballs on top!
Julia Sawyer: We usually get a 5 pound turkey from Walmart. My mom puts it in the oven for about 7 minutes at 8 degrees. Then she puts it on the table with mashed potatoes, gravy and a little chicken.
Paige Meyette: My mommy buys our turkey at Big Y. It is about as big as my dad's shoe. When we take it home, he stuffs a really little chicken inside it. When it is on the table we eat it with just plain rice.
Heather Emerson's students
Ryan Baumgart: You get the turkey from the farm. The farm is in the East. You cook it on a pan. You put eggs with it and maybe some strawberries too. You cook it for two hours in my stove. It should be just plain hot.
Serenity Buffioni: Grandma gets the turkey from Walmart. It costs $5. She doesn't put anything on it. She cooks it in the oven for five hours at 6 degrees. Then we eat it with a fork.
Ceilia Cantarella: Dad gets the turkey from the woods. You put it in the hot bowl and let it boil for a little while, like 10 minutes. I don't like it so I don't eat. I eat the other foods that I like.
Logan Driscoll: Dad gets the turkey from Walmart. He pays $50 for it. He brings it home. He carves it. He puts in the screen, then in the oven. He puts it in for 60 minutes. I like to eat the turkey!
Zoe Dupee: My mom gets the turkey from the super market. She pays $20 for it. She puts it in the back of the car where my brother and I sit. My Mom bakes the turkey and I don't watch her.
Dillon Dzbenski: My grandma gets the turkey from the super market maybe. I think it costs $5.99. She cooks it in the oven with fruit and I'm not sure what else. She cooks it for 5 minutes at 67 degrees.
Ashley Gero: My mom won the turkey at the carnival. My mommy cooks it on the stove and she likes making it because she likes to cook dinner. She puts fish sticks and chips with it.
Michael Hubby: My dad gets the turkey at the Animal Store. You put chicken nuggets on the turkey. Dad cooks it in the kitchen for 15 years. Then we all eat it.
Makenna Lancia: We go to my grandma's house. Grandma gets the turkey from my dad at the turkey hunt. Then Grandma cooks it in her oven. She puts salt on it to make it nice and good. Then you eat it.
Ashlyn Lesure: Grandma gets the turkey from the market next to McDonald's. The turkey costs $4. She just cooks it on the stove for 5 minutes. We eat it with gravy and mashed potatoes.
Nathan Luczynski: You cook the turkey for a couple of minutes and then you put a thermometer in it. You put salt on it and the salt kinda greases it and then you put lemon juice on it and then you cook it for 20 minutes and that's all of it.
Molly McLear: Auntie gets the turkey from Stop and Shop. She puts stuff on it to make sure it doesn't stick to the pan. She cooks it in the oven for maybe 20 minute in a cold oven. We eat it with a fork and a plate.
Braedan Pringle: Me and mom get the turkey from the super market. It costs maybe five cents. You put it in the oven for like ten seconds. The temperature should be hot.
Ava Stefanik: Mom gets the turkey from the super market, Walmart. She pays $1 for it. She puts gravy on top of the turkey. Momma knows it done because it goes beep, beep, beep. At Thanksgiving we make Santa his list.
Jackson Trombley: Mom gets the turkey from the turkey home. It is free. She puts cookies with the turkey. She cooks it in the oven for 10 minutes. The temperature is cold. We eat sprinkles with the turkey.

Cathy Howe's students
Caleb Denette: Take a turkey, then cook it in the oven at 60 degrees. It's done when it dings. We have root beer to drink. The dads have beer.
Kai Daugherty: First we buy the ingredients, then take the turkey and wash it and bake it in the oven. We get cranberries and mash potatoes, and put the cranberries in the microwave. Then you eat!
Sydney Goodell: I never watched mom make a turkey. We get the turkey in the woods. You cook the turkey on the stove, with it set at hot. We have mashed potatoes too and chocolate pie for dessert.
Ethan Denette: We buy the turkey at the store. You bake turkey in the oven and people come over to eat. We have apple pie for dessert.
Ryan Patenaude: I never had a turkey dinner. No, wait, Dad went out and bought one already done. We had mashed potatoes and stuffing with pumpkin pie for dessert.
John Stack: We get our turkey at Price Chopper and cook it in the oven. It is done when you hear a beep sound. Mom makes pie and lots of people come.
Gracie Coury: You go to the mall to get the turkey and bring it home. Mommy has to cook it in the oven at medium temperature for 15 minutes. You have gravy and that's all.
Nicholas Odell: I don't look at my mother cook. I do like turkey and stuffing. I think you buy it at the Big Y. We cook it at our house. It's done by 3 or 4 o'clock.
Faith Domenichini: We make a turkey, get some gravy and then eat it. That is all you do.
Alex Boyer: You put the turkey in the oven, then get cranberry sauce. You get stuffing at the store and buy bread. We make pumpkin pie.
Skyler Ellsworth: We buy the turkey at the store. We make little peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip too. We have clementines. We put little paper turkeys on the table. Then we eat.
Jadyn Greenbush: Hmmm. You get a turkey at the supermarket and you have to pay for it. Then you have to bring it home and cook it. You cook it for a long time -- like 30 minutes. You can share it.
Zachary Gelinas: You get the turkey from Walmart and I cook it in my oven for 21 2 minutes at 65 degrees. Put a little powder on it sometimes. Sometimes mom puts it in the microwave for 7 minutes. Sometimes Dad works on Thanksgiving so we wait for Daddy.
Jordyn Biagini: You first shoot the turkey, cook it in the oven wicked hot for 10 minutes. Then we eat it with gravy, mashed potatoes and stuffing. Then dessert is ice cream and cake.
Jaycob Bennett: We eat smashed potatoes, gravy and turkey. You get the turkey from Walmart, cook it in the store in the cooking place where they cook and then you take it home and cook it a little more.
Jayden: You get the turkey from Big Y and then cook it in the stove for 15 minutes at 19 degrees. Wait while it's cooking. We make stuffing and that's it.
Emily Therrien: You get turkey at Walmart. Turkeys at Walmart are good. It comes already cooked so you go home and eat it. We eat mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce. That's it.
Caleb Mclenithan: You buy a turkey at the store and put stuffing in it. Then it cooks a long time. We buy cranberry sauce in a can and cook orange potatoes and put them on a dish whole. That's it!
Ben Pierce: We buy a turkey at a supermarket, with potatoes for mashed potatoes. Then you thaw the turkey and then bake it and we eat it with broccoli.
