CHESHIRE -- Three local residents have been arraigned in Berkshire Superior Court with one more to go, all suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of firearms from a residence in April.
Adams Police Det. Lawrence Ordyna reports that Billie Jangrow, 41, of Savoy; Roy Dilley, 40, of Adams; and Charles Crisp, 30, of Adams, were each arraigned and pleaded not guilty to individual slates of larceny and breaking and entering charges. Their court dates were Nov. 19, Nov. 20 and Nov. 9, respectively
The fourth, Brandylee Hebert, 32, of Adams is scheduled to follow with an arraignment on Nov. 27.
The charges spring from a Berkshire County Drug Task Force (BCDTF) investigation into an April theft of over 20 guns and personal checks from a Fred Mason Road residence.
Beginning in May, the investigation involved BCDTF, the Massachusetts State Police (MSP), MSP Narcotics Unit, MSP Berkshire Detectives Unit, and the Adams, Cheshire and Lanesborough police departments.
It saw the recovery of stolen rifles, shotguns and pistols that had been sold to Pat’s Gun Shop in Lanesborough and Dave’s Sporting Goods in Pittsfield.
The investigation was headed up by Ordyna, who says drug addiction was the driving force behind the alleged larcenies.
Hebert will be charged with possessing heroin and cocaine in addition to the larceny and breaking and entering charges. These spring from a BCDTF raid conducted
Jangrow is charged with five counts breaking and entering a building during the day for a felony, seven counts larceny of a firearm, seven counts illegal possession of a firearm, four counts conspiracy, one count larceny over $250, two counts forgery of a check, two counts uttering a false check and one count receiving stolen property over $250. Superior Court Judge John Agostini released Jangrow on $500 bail.
