CHESHIRE -- Jim Witherell, of Cheshire, and the Berkshire Martial Arts Aca demy was promoted to 7th degree black belt in Uechi-Ryu karate at the annual masters celebration, held Aug. 4, in Plymouth. Witherell is also co-owner of BMAA.

He received his first black belt in 1989 in Uechi-Ryu Karate and has also received black belts in Superfoot Kickboxing, UKC kickboxing and Akia kickboxing.
