WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williams College Wind En sem ble will perform Friday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m., in Chapin Hall.
This free event is open to the public.
Conductor Heidi Johanna Miller will lead the ensemble in a concert of wind music that spans 100 years of repertoire. Familiar works by Gounod, Rodrigo and Khachaturian are complemented by works of living composers. Miller will present her own transcription of "Gladsome Light" by Pavel Tchesnokov. The ensemble will also offer a world premiere of "Road Stories" by Jennifer Higdon. "Shortcut Home" by renowned composer Dana Wilson will round out the program.
Chapin Hall is at 54 Chapin Hall Drive on the college campus.
