ADAMS -- Francis Stavaski of 7 Potter St. has been honored by two General Electric general managers at Pittsfield for suggesting that the company give GE home lightning protectors as minimum suggestion awards. Stavaski is a quality control engineering systems test planner in the ordnance department. ADAMS -- Awards were presented at a meeting of Cub Scout Pack 3 Tuesday night. Bobcat awards went to Matthew Witek Jr., Timothy Brown, Fred Edwards, Gary Koehler, Stephen Sauve, Peter Vicari, Howard Wineberg, Thomas Decker, Bernard Beauchemin, Thomas Langer, David Bellman, Wayne Lucia, Richard Hall, Michael Foisy, Mark Avery, Williams Hakes and Gregory Lucia.

NORTH ADAMS -- Kevin Howard, age 8, and Scott Maturski, age 16, qualified for a regional bowling tournament in a national event. Howard finished first out of 50 bowlers in his age group, and Maturski was fourth out of 190 in his age group, in a state tournament sponsored by the Young Bowlers of America.

CHESHIRE -- Richard Armstrong, new vehicle salesperson for Bedard Brothers Auto Sales, Inc., Dodge dealer, received an award for individual performance in selling Dodge vehicles. Mr. Arm strong has reached the Silver level of recognition in Dodge’s Sales Professionals Club. Incentives and awards are provided for outstanding product knowledge and sales achievement.

NORTH ADAMS -- On opening night of the North Adams Men’s Basketball League, Flynn-Dagnoli defeated Hoosac Bank, 81-34. James Perry and Stacey Castle led Flynn-Dagnoli with 22 points apiece while Dan Alberts chipped in with 17 points. Dan Goodell led Hoosac Bank with 17 points while Dick Alcombright netted nine.

NORTH ADAMS -- In recent action from the North Adams Youth Basketball League, Dunn’s Tree Service toppled Deep Associates, 24-9. T.J. Skiffington led all scorers with eight points in the victory. Sam Carlson added six while Ryan Pembroke and Cody Wemette each scored four points. Colton Primmer was the top scorer for Deep with six points.
