PITTSFIELD -- The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority’s annual holiday campaign to offer free transit rides for a contribution to assist the community will again benefit Soldier On, the local organization assisting homeless veterans.
Any new, unwrapped, in original packaging, contribution of personal care items, jackets, hats, or gloves, gift cards, writing paper, pens and stamps, or nonperishable food items, will be accepted on any BRTA bus instead of the regular fare through Dec. 15.
To see a complete wish list of the most needed items, visit the Soldier On website: www.wesoldieron.org/donate, or contact the BRTA operations department at 413-499-2782, ext. 1, for additional information.
Festively decorated collection bins will be placed on all buses during the two-week campaign.
