NORTH ADAMS -- Due to an editing error, a headline in the Transcript’s weekend edition mistakenly said Mayor Richard Alcombright is seeking $600,000 in cuts to the city’s fiscal 2013 budget. That amount refers to the $600,971 the mayor is looking to close of a $650,000 budget deficit. Only $172,309 in cuts will be brought before the City Council at tonight’s meeting. Alcombright proposes to use reserve fund transfers to cover the remainder of the $600,971 after the cuts.
