NORTH ADAMS -- Dec. 13 marks the third of four Thursday night celebrations happening during December for the city's Hometown Holidays.
People can enjoy store specials, music and other holiday fun from 5 to 8 p.m.
Santa Claus will be at Luma's and Berkshire Emporium from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Spruce Hill Photo will be set up to take photos with Santa during this time. The photos will be available for free download from www.sprucehillphoto.com. Donations to the Santa Fund are suggested.
Following the photo session, Santa will migrate over to Shima from 6:30 to 7 p.m., where people can visit with him.
In addition to fun with Santa, Berkshire Emporium, Luma's and Shima will host a snowflake hunt. Snowflakes will be hidden in Berkshire Emporium, Luma's and Shima. The snowflakes can be exchanged for various prizes and gift certificates.
Luma's will serve free hot chocolate from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The final Hometown Holidays event will take place Thursday, Dec. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m., and will feature a variety of specials and activities for people to enjoy downtown.
The 2012 Hometown Holidays is part of Shop North Adams, a campaign urging people to shop locally. Sponsors include the City of North Adams and the North Adams Chamber of Commerce.
