NORTH ADAMS -- Boy Scout Troop 64 of the Notre Dame Church held its annual Christmas Party which was highlighted by the presentation of Tenderfoot badges to 11 new scouts. The scouts are Peter Dupuis, Bruce Lussier, Martin Blake, Paul Maloney, Dennis Lefebvre, Henry Borden, Arthur Varieur, Gary Lussier, John Nault, Richard Lussier and Martin Marrow.

ADAMS -- Four Adams men and two from Williamstown are among 369 listed by the State Civil Service Board as eligible for the post of motor vehicle examiner with the state Registry of Motor Vehicles. From Adams are Thaddeus Dziegel, William Guyette Jr., Thomas Horn and John Smith. From Williamstown are Donald Chilson and George Girard.

CHESHIRE -- Benjamin Robinson, son of James and Carol Robinson of East View Drive, has been named to "Who’s Who Among American High School Students." "Who’s Who" recognizes students for their positive achievements in academics, athletics, and school and community service. Robinson is a senior at Hoosac Valley High School.

LANESBOROUGH -- Airman Paul Woodin of 14 Algonquin St., has graduated from the U.S. Air Force avionic navigation systems course at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Graduates of the course were taught basic navigation, maintenance of radio and radar avionic navigation systems and earned credits toward an associate degree.

Woodin is a 1984 graduate of Mt. Greylock Regional High School, Williamstown.

NORTH ADAMS -- In recent action from the North Adams Youth Basketball League, HA George defeated Hoosac Bank, 61-57. Ryan Costine led HA George with 16 points, and Kyle George and Joe Vareski both netted 15 points. Hoosac Bank was led by Chris Bullett, who dropped in 19. Dan Goodell chipped in with eight.

CHESHIRE -- The Hoosac Valley swim team defeated Hudson Valley 66-46 on Friday afternoon.

Libby Ariazi was a double winner, taking the top spot in the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. Kara Senecal won the 100 free, Danielle Wineberg was tops in the 100 back and Renee Kruszyna took the 500 free.
