READSBORO, Vt. -- Two new town auditors have been appointed by the Selectmen to fill vacancies created last month when two of three auditors resigned. Mrs. Hollis Yorke will replace Mrs. Foster Collins, who will leave Jan. 8 for Montpelier, and Mrs. Forrest Hicks who will replace Mrs. Fred Underwood, who resigned for personal reasons. WILLIAMSTOWN -- John Lindley, son of George Lindley of 14 Simonds Road, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Thursday for a four-year hitch. Upon completing 10 weeks of recruit training at Parris Island, S.C., the new Marine will undergo four additional weeks of advanced combat training at Camp Geiger, N.C.

ADAMS -- It’s often said that the restaurant business is one of the hardest to stay in. If it is, Kai and Julie Chee have their work cut out for them. But, they say they are up to the challenge. They opened Chee’s Chinese Cuisine on the corner of Columbia and Hoosac streets. The restaurant seats 48. Mr. and Mrs. Chee have hired nine part-time workers and six full-time cooks.
ADAMS -- Stouffer’s Frozen Food Corp. announced the promotion of James Mikutowicz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mikutowicz of 34 Randall St., to senior product release coordinator in the Division of Quality Assurance. WILLIAMSTOWN -- Four experienced lawyers have joined Cain, Hibbard, Myers & Cook, PC. John Malloy, a senior business lawyer, has joined the firm as counsel; Dennis LaRochelle and David Valicenti, both seasoned litigators, has joined the firm as associates; and Michael Ostroskey has joined the firm’s real estate department as an associate.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Mount Greylock wrestling team finished third at the Berkshire Holiday Tournament held Saturday at Monument Mountain. Senior Fran Derby and freshman Dan Onorato won individual titles at 125 and 135 pounds, respectively. Derby pinned Alex Watson of Essex, Vt. at the 2 minute, 28 second mark. Onorato put Mount Everett’s Dustin Wheeler on his back after 1:52.
