PITTSFIELD -- Six different Taconic boys won individual events, helping the Braves beat Hoosac Valley 121-40. The Hurricane girls turned the tables, getting individual wins from five different swimmers to beat Taconic 109-61 at the Pittsfield YMCA pool on Friday afternoon.
George Sommerville was a two-event winner for Taconic’s boys, taking the 100 breaststroke (1:19.5) and the 100 free (58.54). Other Braves winners were Jeremy Haven (200 free), Craig Spencer-Hopkins (50 free), Steven Davila (100 butterfly), Quinton Cookis (500 free) and Lucas Benjamin (100 back). Taconic also won all three relays.
Gillian Campbell of Taconic swam a Western Mass.-qualifying time of 31.19 to win the 50 free in the girls’ meet, but hers was the only first-place finish the Braves could muster.
Julia Whitney (100 breast, 100 fly) and Emma Whitney (100 back, 500 free) won two events each for Hoosac Valley. The Hurricanes swept the relays and got other individual wins from Jordan Vanuni (200 free), Liz Bernardy (200 individual medley) and Michaella Vecchiarelli (100 free).
Greylock girls’ basketball
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Lenox held the Mounties to seven points or less in each of the first three quarters en route to a 52-33 win.
Hayden Zinchuk had 14 for the Millionaires while Liz Mitts added 12 and Jaclyn Gigliotti had 10. The Mounties were led by 11 from Mackenzie Flynn.

Williams men’s hockey
WILLIAMSTOWN -- In the first game as a nationally ranked team this year, the Williams College men’s hockey team was pushed by visiting Skidmore for two periods. But the 13th-ranked Ephs erupted in the third period and skated away with a 6-2 win.
The Thoroughbreds got a short-handed goal from Vlad Gavrik in the first period and Taylor Carmola tied the game for Williams (8-2-1) in the second.
The Ephs took command by scoring twice in a 38 second span of the third period. Cody Skinner scored at 7:09 and Nick Anderson netted the game winner at 7:47.
Williams women’s basketball
WILLIAMSTOWN -- In the nightcap of the NESCAC basketball doubleheader, Grace Rehnquist came off the bench to score a game-high 15 points as Williams (11-2, 2-1 NESCAC) pulled away from Wesleyan 68-50.
While the Ephs led wire-to-wire, it was 11-8 with 14:24 left. Then Rehnquist drained a 3-pointer to start a 21-1 run that the Cardinals could not recover from.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Hamilton defense did an outstanding job clamping down on the Williams offense as the Ephs (6-5, 3-2) had only one shot on goal in the first period and 10 in the game. The one shot the Ephs were able to score on wasn’t enough in the 3-1 loss.
Hamilton broke a 1-1 tie on Jill Tokarczyk’s unassisted goal at 18:55 of the second period. Williams’ Cristina Bravi tied the game on a power-play goal at the 47 second into the second.
