ADAMS -- William Denault of 26 Powers St., whose term of two years on the School Committee expires in March, has filed for nomination as a candidate for another term. Mr. Denault is secretary of the committee. He was appointed to the School Committee June 16, 1960, to fill a vacancy caused by the death of Harvey Clermont. He was elected to a full two-year term March 6, 1961. WILLIAMSTOWN -- Ann Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Scott of 3 Grundy Court, has been presented the annual Good Citizens’ Award of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The DAR presented the award to a senior at Mt. Greylock Regional High School who demonstrates outstanding character, school citizenship and achievement.

NORTH ADAMS -- Private Edward Sullivan, son of Christine and George Heisler of North Adams, has completed advanced individual training at the U.S. Army Armor Center at Fort Knox, Ky. During the training, students learned the duties of a tank crewman, including the firing of the tank’s armament and small weapons. They also received instruction in field radio operation, map reading and tank maintenance and repair

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Williams College men’s soccer coach Mike Russo has been named the Division III national soccer coach of the year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He lead the Ephs to a

17-1 season and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Regional Championship. Russo is an assistant professor of physical education, as well as coordinator of physical education at Williams.

ADAMS -- Sarah McKay, daughter of Brian and Janice McKay of Crandall Street, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2002 fall semester at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. She is a 2002 graduate of Hoosac Valley High School, Cheshire and is a freshman at the University of New England, majoring in marine biology and environmental science.

NORTH ADAMS -- LCpl. Jared Cariddi, son of Fran and Marion Cariddi of 61 Marion Ave., has been called to active duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned with the 6th MT BN at Fort Nathan Hale, New Haven, Conn. he has been in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for three years. Cariddi is a 2000 graduate of Drury High School.
