NORTH ADAMS -- Lorraine Barbeau, daughter of Mrs. Rouville Barbeau of 165 River St., a student nurse at Bishop Memorial School of Nursing at Pittsfield General Hospital, left for 12 weeks of pediatric study and experience at the Boston Floating Hospital. NORTH ADAMS -- A.3.c. Robert Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wood of 35 Folsom St., has left for a three-year tour of duty in Germany after having spent a 30-day leave at his home. A graduate of Drury High School last June, he had his basic Air Force training at Lackland Air Base, San Antonio, Texas.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Larry Mach was the winner of the 3rd annual cross country ski poker run put on by the Western Massachusetts Athletic Club at Taconic Golf Club. He was the recipient of a pair of skis for winning the event. A pair of ski poles went to runner-up Tony Zapponi.
NORTH ADAMS -- The Northern Berkshire YMCA Betta swim team had 10 triple winners and six double winners in their trouncing of Greenfield YMCA 437-109. Triple winners were Colin Barney, Suzette Cote, Jen Rosen, James Galli, Sarah Greenbush, Kriste Kleiner, Ian House, Jeff Galli, Falice House and Angela Gagnon. Double winners were Don Palmer, Chad Davine, Diane Dority, Bruce Hall, Matt Marsha and Adam Peters.

NORTH ADAMS -- Andrew Cellana, a sixth grade student at Conte Middle School,
WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Hoosac Valley cross country team won the Berkshire County country ski race held Saturday at Mount Greylock Regional High School. The team of Dan Demers, Mike Blazejewski, Ben Garner and Shane Macdowell won the 16-kilometer course. The Mounties finished third. Their team was Zach Ogden, Will Fogel, Sean Condron and Scott Beattie.
