ADAMS -- Northern Berkshire young people have been named department co-chairmen for the annual Berkshire County 4-H Fair.
They are: Dairy -- Fred Martin of Cheshire; vegetables -- David Zappula of Florida; flowers -- Marilyn Williams of Florida; club exhibits -- Fred Balawender of Cheshire; canning, Betty-Jo Williams and Margaret Herrmann of Adams; and demonstrations -- Maxine Maruco of Adams and Lee Webb of Cheshire.
ADAMS -- David Murach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Murach of 2 Fisk St., has completed Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, and has been assigned now to Keesler Air Force Base at Biloxi, Miss. At his new base he will receive technical training as a radio and radar maintenance specialist.

NORTH ADAMS -- Michael Gerrity, M.D., a pediatrician on the staff of North Adams Regional Hospital, assumed the presidency of the medical staff at the group s annual meeting Jan. 19.
Dr. Gerrity, who served as president-elect for the past two years, succeeds Dr. Thomas Hyde, M.D. Dr. Gerrity has been associated with NARH since 1982.
NORTH ADAMS -- The law firm of Freedman, DeRosa & Rondeau has announced that Timothy Morey has become a partner in their law offices
Mr. Morey, of 203 East Road in Adams, joined the law firm in 1983.
He is presently city solicitor in North Adams and chairman of the Adams-Cheshire Regional School Committee.

STAMFORD, Vt. -- Army Spec. Matthew Wright, son of Mary Lou Wright of Maltese Road, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and practice in drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, and Army history, tradition and core values.
STAMFORD, Vt. -- The Stamford boys basketball team was handed its first loss of the year, falling to Clarksburg 64-59. Sean Trottier led Clarksburg with 21 points, followed by Zac Remillard with 12, Matt Lefevbre with 10 and Seamus Flynn with nine. For Stamford, Tom Primmer led with 16 points, followed by Steve Senecal, Wes Pecor and Anthony Maselli with 14 points each.
