WILLIAMSTOWN -- Jeffrey Jordan, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Wallace Jordan of Sweet Brook Road, has been elected to represent the senior class of Mt. Greylock Regional High School at the Massachusetts Student Government Day to be held in Boston in April. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the scholastic honor society of Mt. Greylock Regional High School. ADAMS -- Robert Blanquart of 5 Grandview Ter. has been elected to the board of directors and made vice president of the R.T. Arnold Lumber Corp. He joined the Arnold firm in 1954 after a previous association with Miller Paper Co. of North Adams. He served as clerk and officer manager at the officer here and is now manager of the Pittsfield branch.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mara and Julia Savacool, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. John Savacool of Forst Road, each won a gold medal Jan. 24 at the New England Interclub competition at the Newburyport Figure Skating Club in Newburyport. Mara won first place in the Intermediate Ladies Freestyle event and Julia won first place in the Preliminary Girls Freestyle event.
CLARKSBURG -- Cub Scout Pack 62 held its Pinewood Derby and awards ceremony Jan. 20 at the Clarksburg School. Wolf and gold arrow point badges were awarded to Michael Bua and Christopher Gelinas and the Webelos and Webelos achievement badge were awarded to Roy Briggs. Pinewood Derby results

POWNAL, Vt. -- Kevin Orell, son of Robert and Kathy Orell, has joined the U.S. Army's Delayed Entry Program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year. Orell has reported to Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. for basic training. After completing basic training, he will receive advanced individual training in his career job specialty prior to being assigned to his first permanent duty station.
NORTH ADAMS -- Main Street may soon be home to a new fine arts, crafts and antique store. Pending city Planning Board approval next month, Wendy Bongiovanni of Williamstown plans to open Stonewood Artisans Inc. at 107 Main St. She said she will feature regional artisans and their handmade items who will purchase store space in which to sell their artwork. An artist herself, Bongiovanni creates jewelry and does acrylic painting and paper collage.
