NORTH ADAMS -- Berkshire Family And Individual Resources (BFAIR) is offering a training on basic neurology and pharmacology on Friday, Feb. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, at BFAIR’s administrative office, 771 S. Church St.
The training, offered by Eric Denette, BFAIR’s director of clinical services, provides an overview of the basic principles of neurology and psychopharmacology, and how it relates to medication treatment. A review of the components of the brain, fundamentals of neurotransmission and their processes is provided.
These concepts are applied to psychotropic medications with respect to various psychiatric diagnoses. Discussion is also provided in the context of adults with developmental disabilities and children as well.
