The girls' basketball Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase tipped the week off by raising about $10,000 to help fight cancer.
The Hoosac Valley girls' basketball team and Mount Greylock boys' basketball team both clinched trips to the Western Massachusetts tournament by picking up their 10th wins of the year.
This week's highlights: The Hoosac Valley girls' earned a trip to the postseason on the heels of Emily Rosse's triple-double on Jan. 22. ... Eric Leitch scored four goals in a Jan. 24 victory for the St. Joseph's hockey team. ... Tyrell Thomas scored 30 points to lead the Mount Greylock boys past Pittsfield and into the tournament on Jan. 23.
Greylock boys' alpine
Look back: In the final giant slalom of the season, the Mounties took third place. Ryan Kuhn finished third overall with a time of 42.95 seconds. Nick DiSanti took fourth, crossing the line in 43.77.
Look ahead: The Mounties and the rest of the league kick off the slalom season on Jan. 28.
Greylock girls' alpine
Look back: Greylock continues its improvement, as the young Mounties continually hit better times. Greylock took fifth place overall and was led by Abby Wiseman. Wiseman finished 13th with a time of 48.94 seconds. Mecer Greenwald also cracked the top 20, finishing in 18th.
Look ahead: The slalom season kicks off with runs on both Jan. 28 and Jan. 30.
Drury boys' basketball

Look ahead: The Blue Devils will play two crucial games this week. They start at Lenox on Jan. 30 and then take on Monument on Feb. 1. Coach Jack Racette said his team must win those games to have a shot at postseason play.
Hoosac boys' basketball
Look back: Corey Puccio made 21 points to lead Hoosac past Lenox, 61-41 on Jan. 23. The Hurricanes continued their winning ways with a 43-42 victory of Drury on Jan. 25. Trevor Alibozek led the way in that game with 17 points. It's just the second time this year the Hurricanes have won back-to-back games.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes host Monument on Jan. 29 and Greylock on Feb. 1.
McCann boys' basketball
Look back: Anthony Duprat's 11 points helped pace the Hornets to a 54-44 victory over PVCS on Jan. 22. Josh Superneau's 14 points weren't enough for McCann to knock off St. Mary's on Jan. 24. St. Mary's now leads the Tri-County and McCann sits in third place. Sam Thresher won the game with a last second 3-pointer for St. Mary's.
Look ahead: The Hornets will look for revenge against Smith Voc. on Jan. 29, after losing 49-44 earlier in the year. McCann then travels to Franklin Tech on Feb. 1.
Greylock boys' basketball
Look back: Tyrell Thomas led the way for Greylock this week. He scored 51 points in two games. He scored 30 against Pittsfield in a 69-61 win and then 21 in a balanced effort of St. Joseph's on Jan. 25. The Mounties now have an eight-game winning streak and sit atop the South Division.
Look ahead: The Mounties will try to grow that win streak against Taconic on Jan. 29 and then at Hoosac Valley on Feb. 1. The Mounties are in the midst of four games on the road.
Drury girls' basketball
Look back: The Blue Devils took on Wahconah in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase on Jan. 19 and were handed a 45-34 loss. Shannon Garvey led the way with 12 points. Drury was off for the rest of the week.
Look ahead: It will be a tough week for the Blue Devils. They take on Lee on Jan. 28 at Lee and then host Lenox on Feb. 4.
Hoosac girls' basketball
Look back: Emily Rosse's triple-double against Monument Mountain on Jan. 22 helped push the Hurricanes into the Western Mass. tournament. She had 23 points, 14 rebounds and 12 steals in the win. Jen Gale and Meg Rodowicz each recorded 14 points in a win over Lenox in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase on Jan. 19. The Hurricanes couldn't complete a perfect week, however. Wahconah topped them 42-40 on Jan. 24. Gale had a team-high 14 points in the loss.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes will attempt to pad their tournament resume with a game against Lee on Jan. 31.
McCann girls' basketball
Look back: Mount Everett had the Hornets number this week. On Jan. 19 the Eagles won, 40-32. Two days later, McCann scored just 16 points in a 35-16 loss at Mount Everett. The Hornets closed the week with a 59-26 loss to Monson on Jan. 24.
Look ahead: Hampshire comes to town on Jan. 28 and then South Hadley visits on Jan. 31.
Greylock girls' basketball
Look back: The Mounties opened the week with a big win over St. Joseph's, 62-27. But that was the only win they would get. Lucy Barrett scored 26 points against Wahconah, but the Warriors won 58-42 on Jan. 22. On Jan. 24, Lee topped the Mounties 56-32.
Look ahead: The Mounties host Pittsfield on Jan. 28 and then round out the month with a trip to Monument on Jan. 30.
St. Joseph's hockey
Look back: Mount Greylock's Eric Leitch and Derek Romejko accounted for the majority of the Crusaders' scoring in a 7-1 win over Belchertown. Leitch had four goals, including a first-period hat trick. Romejko added a goal.
Look ahead: The Crusaders challenge West Springfield on Jan. 26 and Wahconah on Jan. 30.
Wahconah hockey
Look back: Ryan Ouimet added to his large point total with five goals this week, but it wasn't the best week for the Warriors. Wahconah grabbed a 5-4 win over Minnechaug on Jan. 19 and then was handed a difficult 11-6 loss by Ludlow on Jan. 21.
Look ahead: The Warriors challenge Taconic on Jan. 23 at Williams College. This will be the Transcript's "Game of the Week." The staff will be on hand to live-blog and record video interviews after the game. The Warriors close out the month with a Jan. 30 contest against St. Joseph's.
Hoosac boys' Nordic skiing
Look back: Justin Barnes and Jared Haley each continued their solid skiing with another top-25 finish. Barnes was first across the line in 25:19, good for 22nd. Haley wasn't far behind, crossing in 25:44, good for 25th.
Look ahead: Extreme cold has canceled Saturday's race. No makeup date has been announced. The next meet is scheduled for Feb. 2.
Hoosac girls' Nordic skiing
Look back: Danielle Beauchemin matched her season-best result with another 10th-place finish, giving her back-to-back 10-place finishes.
Look ahead: The cold will keep the Hurricanes away from the course this weekend, but the next race will take place on Feb. 2.
Greylock boys' Nordic skiing
Look back: Will Kirby, Alex White and Sean Houston took the top three spots on Jan. 19 to lead yet another Mountie victory. Greylock now sits on top of the league by nine points. Jake Foehl and Matt Wiseman also took top-10 finishes in the meet.
Look ahead: Due to the extreme cold, Saturday's meet has been canceled. The next league meet will take place on Feb. 2.
Greylock girls' Nordic skiing
Look back: Kat Chenail took second place, Sophia Dastoli was fourth, Alexandra DeVeaux took fifth, Stephanie Adamczyk was sixth and Zavi Sheldon took eighth place to lead the Mounties to a first-place finish at Prospect on Jan. 19.
Look ahead: The league will be back in session on Feb. 2.
Hoosac boys' swimming
Look back: It was a quiet week for Hoosac, as it didn't have a meet.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes will attempt once more to qualify for the Western Mass. meet at the Berkshire County meet on Feb. 2.
Hoosac girls' swimming
Look back: The Hurricanes were off this week.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes will finish out the year at the Berkshire County meet on Feb. 2. The Western Mass. meet is scheduled for Feb. 9 and several Hurricanes will be in attendance.
Greylock wrestling
Look back: The Mounties recorded a 51-28 win over Taconic. Cayman Mead recorded a pin in the victory.
Look ahead: The Mountie Invite kicks off Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Then the regular season will come to a close with trips to Monument (Jan. 29) and Dean Tech (Feb. 1).
