WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williamstown Youth Center's annual Snowfest fundraiser aims to provide Northern Berkshire families relief from the winter blues when it returns to Williams College's Towne Field House and Lansing Chapman Rink, from 12 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 3.
"It's a celebration of family more than anything else," Executive Director David Rempell said Monday. "There will be lots of activities that bring families together in the winter."
Rempell said the wide variety of activities planned for this year's 10th annual event means there will be something for everyone.
Activities include ice skating, with skates are available at the rink; an inflatable bounce house; an obstacle course; field hockey, football and basketball. The Williams College Outing Club will attend to give children an opportunity to try a climbing wall.
"In addition, this is the first time we'll have a nine-hole golf course, where both children and adults can putt around," Rempell said.
Other activities include various arts and crafts. Children will be able to create their own airbrushed hat, license plate or magnetic photo frame. A caricature artist, which Rempell said has been very popular in the past, will also return.
The proceeds from Snowfest go toward supporting the center's operating budget, Rempell said.

Rempell added the funds will also go toward providing scholarships for families that need assistance in order to participate in Youth Center programming.
"Any child participates in activities, no matter the financial circumstances of their family," he said.
Rempell said in addition to providing entertainment for families, the event has always proven to be an opportunity for socializing.
Attendees often see people they haven't seen since the weather turned cold, he explained.
"What I enjoy most is watching children and parents interact with each other and enjoying the day," Rempell said. "We have lots of volunteers, so children can go off and do whatever they feel like doing throughout the afternoon."
