WILLIAMSTOWN -- Five Mt. Greylock Regional High School students received awards in the Boston Globe’s scholastic art exhibit at the Boston University School of Fine Arts. The winners are senior students Ernest Chase, Carol Dodge, Robert Foster, Pamela Littlefield and Judith Millis. The winning entries will be on display at Boston University. CHESHIRE -- Fire Chief Charles Jepson of the Hoosac Hose Co., Volunteer Fire Department, who has been a member of the company for the past 35 years, announced he will not be a candidate for re-election at the annual meeting of the department. Chief Jepson has led the department for the past 15 years.

NORTH ADAMS -- The Transcript is pleased to announce that Rebecca Tatro of 305 Walker St. has been named Carrier of the Week. Becky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tatro, is in the fifth grade at Sullivan School, where she recently won the "Super Kid" award.
READSBORO, Vt. -- Both the fifth and sixth grade team and seventh and eighth grade team at the Readsboro School won the ninth annual spelling bee contest. Members of the teams were Thomas Bologna, Treve Berrial, Jessica Comai, Mick Tatro, Christine DeMasi, Mark Carrier, Angela Bologna, Nicole Marks, D. Brown, Jenny Girardi, Allison Smith and Heidi Smith.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- At the annual membership meeting of the
NORTH ADAMS -- The board of directors of the Family Life Support Center Inc. recently elected officers for the current fiscal year. Elected were Danielle Aalberts, president; Elizabeth Mach, vice president; Deb Parkington, treasurer; and Judy Blaisdell, clerk. The mission of the Family Life Support Center is to reduce homelessness and its causes in the Northern Berkshire area.
