Justin Duval wins $500 American Legion Post 160 scholarship

ADAMS -- Commander Anthony Donovan, of American Legion Post 160 of Adams, awarded Justin Duval a $500 scholarship check on Jan. 8.

Duval is the son of John and Debra Duval, of Powers Street, and the grandson of post member Francis Alibozek and wife, Patricia, of Edward Avenue.

Justin Duval graduated from Hoosac Valley High School and is now attending Western New England College in Springfield majoring in criminal justice.

Post 160 picked Duval in 2012 from a committee of five -- not knowing any names of students -- by reading their essays and by reviewing their school records.

Duval gave members a thank you at the meeting.
