READSBORO, Vt. -- A North Adams man will face a fugitive from justice charge in Vermont after he was found sleeping on a local home's porch Friday night.
According to a press release from Vermont State Police Sgt. Jesse Robson, state police responded to a Tunnel Street residence for a report of an intoxicated man sleeping on the homeowner's porch at roughly 11 p.m.
State police arrived and identified the man as Jessey L. Deitner, 56, of North Adams, Mass. A check for warrants turned up an active warrant from Berkshire County for allegedly violating an abuse-prevention order.
Deitner was arrested on the warrant and charged with being a fugitive from justice charge in Vermont. He is being held at Marble Valley Correctional Center on $15,000 bail and is due in Bennington Criminal Court on Tuesday.
