Physical therapist to talk to Parkinson’s group
WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Northern Berkshire Parkinson’s Support Group will meet on Friday at 10:30 a.m., at Williamstown Savings Bank, 795 Main St., lower level board room.
The featured speaker will be Priti Shah, a physical therapist with more than 30 years of experience, who works for Northern Berkshire Healthcare. She will discuss how individuals with Parkinson’s Disease can improve their mobility and walking, prevent falls and be safe in and outside of their home.
Shah is the director of Rehab Services for North Adams Regional Hospital, VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire. She recently completed training and received a certification in LSVT BIG, which is a research-based exercise approach for treatment of individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and related disorders.
