The postseason will begin this week with the Mount Greylock boys' basketball team being the only North County boys hoops team to qualify. For the girls, Drury and Hoosac Valley will be in the Division II tournament and McCann Tech will appear in the Division III tournament.
Both hockey teams that have North County athletes on them will make postseason trips.
Drury boys' basketball
Look back: The season came to a close for the Blue Devils with a loss to Pittsfield, 70-55. Nolan Bird led the way in the loss, netting 14 points. Earlier in the week, Bird dropped 20 points on Wahconah to keep the season alive for another day.
Season overview: The Blue Devils finished the year 8-10 and missed the postseason. Bird was the team's leading scoring. He averaged 15.7 points per game, finishing eighth in the county.
Hoosac boys' basketball
Look back: The Hurricanes' difficult season came to an end. Wahconah finished Hoosac's year with a 39-31 win over the Hurricanes on Feb. 21. Taconic also topped Hoosac this week, 59-37.
Season overview: Hoosac finished the season 7-13 overall and 5-8 in the North. Trevor Alibozek led the team in scoring this season. He finished 12th in the county, averaging just over 13 points per game. Matt Braman was second on the team with just over 11 points.
McCann boys' basketball
Look back: The Hornets finished the season with a 47-35 win over Pathfinder on Feb. 20. Josh Superneau led the way with 11 points.
Season overview: McCann finishes its first season under the direction of coach Mike Nykorchuck with a record of 8-12, and 7-7 Tri County. Superneau led the team in scoring with 11.8 points per game. The team will graduate seven seniors, but also returns eight members of this year's varsity squad.
Greylock boys' basketball
Look back: The South Division champs improved to 16-3 on the season and 11-1 in the South with a win over Monument on Feb. 19, 60-45. It was another balanced attack as the Mounties put Brett McCormack, Hank Barrett and Tyler Picard in double figures.
Look ahead: Greylock will now await the announcement of the Western Mass. Division III tournament seeds. It remains a strong possibility the team will be a No. 1 seed for the tournament. Picard is now just 34 points shy of 1,000 for his career as a Mountie.
Drury girls' basketball
Look back: Three games in three days? No problem for the Blue Devils. Led by seniors Danielle Racette, Shannon Garvey and Ali Tatro the Blue Devils won by scores of 63-44, 42-25 and 52-25 over Pittsfield, New Leadership and Monument respectivly. .
Garvey recorded a career-high 27 points in the win over Pittsfield.
The Blue Devils closed the season on an eight-game winning streak. Drury hasn't lost since Morgan Lamarre returned from a concussion.
Look ahead: The Blue Devils could end up as the No. 1 seed in the Division II tournament. At the very least, they should grab the two seed. Seeds will be released Saturday.
Hoosac girls' basketball
Look back: Behind Emily Rosse's 26 points on Feb. 18, the Hurricanes finished up a season sweep of Lenox and the South Division to claim the South title, 53-44 over Lenox.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes will now await the seedings to be released on Saturday.
McCann girls' basketball
Look back: The Hornets closed the regular season with a loss to Cathedral on Feb. 18. Kelly Dobbert led the team with six points.
Look ahead: The Hornets will await Western Mass. seeds this week. The team will be without leading scorer Mary Nguyen for the entire length of the postseason.
Greylock girls' basketball
Look back: Their season was essentially over, but the Mounties still showed up to play hard on Feb. 18. Greylock's 61-31 victory over St. Joseph's knocked the Crusaders from the playoffs. Lucy Barrett led the way with 19 points, Margot Besnard chipped in 14 and Mackenzie Flynn had 12 in the win.
Season overview: The Mounties finished with a 6-13 record on the season. Lucy Barrett finished second in the county in scoring with 15.5 points per game. She finishes behind Lee's Steph Young. The only player the Mounties will lose is Margot Besnard.
St. Joseph's hockey
Look ahead: The Crusaders finished the regular season with an 8-6-2 record and will await the seedings announcement on Saturday.
Look ahead: The Warriors finished with a 13-4-1 record and will await the seedings to be released on Saturday.
Look back: Eight Mount Greylock wrestlers placed in the top four at Western Mass. to qualify for states. Ross Jackson, Mitch Graves, Devon Pelletier, Travis Hilchey, Cayman Mead, CJ Lillie, David O'Brien and Johnny Colon all made states. Jackson, Lillie and Graves both went onto All-States.
Look ahead: Day 2 of All-States is set to begin on Saturday.
