NORTH ADAMS -- The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Visitors Museum at Western Gateway Heritage State Park presents an illustrated lecture, "It Came from Outer Space," on Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m.
On Feb. 15 the Earth (and Russia, in particular) had a rude awakening. A rare and frightening meteor impact releasing 30 atom bombs of energy occurred over the city of Chelyabinsk and reminded the world that our vulnerability lies in more than just our world’s leaders’ hands. This illustrated lecture will put the impact in perspective with both the past and future.
Western Gateway Heritage State Park is south of the Hadley Overpass on Route 8. The Visitors Museum is in building #4. For information, call 413-663-6312.
