NORTH ADAMS -- Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, in collaboration with North Adams Ambulance, is offering an EMT Basic Academy course from March 19 through May 16 on the college campus.

Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 to 10 p.m., and five Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., throughout the semester.

Students will receive certification in the Incident Command System, which is a federal mandate for all emergency service personnel. Students will also participate in a mass casualty incident, a hands-on realistic drill with all skills being utilized.

The fee of $995 includes books and all materials.
