Williams’ birthday to be marked

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The 298th birthday of Col. Ephraim Williams will be celebrated in a public ceremony at 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, March 10, at The Williams Inn.

The Silver Grey Militia Co. of Northern Berkshire will lead the march and musket salute at Field Park.

Jeff Willette, of North Adams, will play the fife; Robert Mossman, of Cheshire, will maintain the drumbeat.

Following the salute, the public is invited to The Williams Inn for the traditional birthday cake cutting by Col. Ephraim Williams, accompanied by fife and drum.
