ADAMS - At top, Saint Stanislaus Kostka School in Adams recently donated $2,000 to The Bethlehem House of Western Massachusetts, which supplies resources for pregnant woman in crisis throughout Western Massachusetts. Pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students raised the funds by securing pledges for a Spell-A-Thon, which they held during Catholic Schools Week.
Right, the pre-school class read the book 'The Mitten Tree,' and the students decided they would like to create their own mitten tree and help out others who may not have mittens. A tree was constructed in the classroom and decorated with many pairs of new mittens donated by parents. The mittens were then delivered to local shelters.
