Parents are warned of insurance firm scam

NORTH ADAMS -- Last spring, the American Income Life Insurance Co. requested and received permission from the North Adams Public Schools to send home information to families regarding a free Child Safe Kit.

The North Adams Police Department reports that this company has misrepresented itself. The free child safe kits are actually the basis for a sales call where the American Income Life Insurance Co. solicits parents to purchase life insurance policies. The name of the individual contacting parents is Marcel Mazeau.

Anyone who is contacted by Mazeau, or any other representative of the American Life Insurance Co., be aware that the North Adams Public Schools does not endorse the company, nor is it partnering with them in any way.
