WILLIAMSTOWN -- Dr. Richard Q. Ford, a clinical psychologist, will lead the latest series in the Second Hour @ the Meetinghouse program at the First Congregational Church.
He will lead three discussions surrounding The Parables of Jesus in Contemporary Settings.
Ford not only is a therapist, but also has extensive training and research as a Biblical scholar. He is the author of The Parables of Jesus: Recovering the Art of Listening.
In this work, he sought to apply his psychological training to the task of reading the familiar parables in a fashion not normally employed by New Testament scholars.
Ford will explore three parables. On Sunday, March 17, he will guide our reflection on Jesus Parable of the Wicked Tenants and America s Invasion of Iraq.
On Sunday, March 24, he directs our thinking to Jesus Parable of the Unjust Judge and the Crisis of Climate Change.
He returns on Sunday, April 7, to engage Jesus Parable of the Dishonest Steward and the War in Afghanistan.
Each of these programs takes place on Sundays at 11:15 a.m. in the church Fellowship Hall on Main Street. Coffee, tea, and goodies are served in advance of the program.
