BENNINGTON, Vt. -- The First Baptist Church of Bennington announces a Veterans' Breakfast in support of the Sunday, April 7, Parade in honor of all veterans, especially those serving in the Vietnam War era.
The breakfast will be free to all veterans and loved ones from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bennington, 601 Main St., just down the street from the parade's line-up preparations at the old Middle School property.
First Baptist congregants and other volunteers will serve a light breakfast of pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee.
Bennington area residents are encouraged to turn out for the parade honoring all military veterans and commemorating the 50th anniversary of the beginnings of U. S. involvement in the Vietnam War (1962-1975).
The parade takes place at noon with the line-up commencing from 10:30 a.m. onwards at the old Middle School on Main Street.
After the parade travels Main and North Streets, a time of remembrance especially for Vietnam era veterans will be offered at the Vermont Veterans€™ Home.
