ADAMS -- Beating out all competitors, a town native took home $18,000 and an expenses-paid trip to Hawaii in last night’s episode of Wheel of Fortune.
The episode was filmed in November but Cheryl Jozefiak, surely Adams’ first Wheel of Fortune winner, has been under wraps about the result since then.
The town was behind her.
A bevy of residents hit the PNA on Victory Street for the 7 p.m. air time to cheer Jozefiak on.
"They were cheering every time the other people went bankrupt," Jeff Markland, the bartender, said.
He added, "It was a vibrant, raucous crowd. They had a good time."
Jozefiak was randomly selected from a field of auditioners in West Palm Beach, Fla., in February 2012.
"I watch the show all the time, and always thought I’d love to be on," she said in an interview with the Transcript.
She said her and her husband Alan "just decided we’d go and check out [the audition]."
Jozefiak lived in Adams until 2003 and now resides in Delray Beach, Fla.
