NORTH ADAMS -- The campus of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts was evacuated Thursday afternoon following reports of a bomb threat originating with a note found in a bathroom.
Following initial reports around 4:15 p.m., MCLA students were told proceed to the North Adams Armory building on Ashland Street and await further instructions.
In a post on its Facebook account, MCLA officials reported that campus police, working with the North Adams Police and Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police, investigated the threat. First responders, along with MCLA facilities staff searched the campus and reported the situation all clear at roughly 6 p.m., and people were allowed to return to campus.
MCLA announced via Twitter that all evening classes had been canceled.
