CHESHIRE -- The Hoosac Valley Leo Club has started its annual fund-raising drive for the Create-a-Dream project for this Christmas season.

The club has taken on the responsibility of providing gifts for several needy families in the North Berkshire area. The Leo Club will work in conjunction with the North Adams Salvation Army, in providing for the families in need.

Part of the project involves raising funds for the purchase of the gifts, buying them, and the subsequent wrapping. This is a total club effort that will include the whole high school and middle school, along with the faculty and administration.

Last year, the Leos raised over $3,000, which provided gifts for 14 needy families.

Anyone wishing to donate to this project can send donations to: Hoosac Valley Leo Club, 125 Savoy Road, Cheshire, MA 01225. Checks should be made payable to Hoosac Valley Leo Club.

All donations, large or small, will be appreciated. Also look for the canisters around Adams and Cheshire at local merchants. This project will run from Thanksgiving through Dec. 22.
