NORTH ADAMS -- Seventeen of the Massa chusetts College of Liberal Arts Trailblazers have been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Spring 2012 All-Academic Team.

MCLA’s All-Academic Team members include Joe Duncan, Nick Mancini, Rory Slattery and Cody Weaver from the men’s baseball team; Sara Hamilton, Alyson Stolz, Lucy Tremblay and Jen Wehner from the women’s basketball team; Samantha Barbarotta, Kaitland Hager, Kelly Kendig, Kayla Koumjian and Katelyn Latagne from the women’s softball team; and Amory Galili, Mitchell Mabardy, Daniel Nesti and Joseph Whitehouse from the men’s tennis team.

A total of 437 student-athletes were honored by MASCAC with their selection to the league’s Spring 2012 All-Academic Team. Student-athletes that compete in championship varsity sports offered by each of the eight MASCAC institutions during the course of the recently completed Spring 2012 academic semester, and who have achieved a minimum 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average are eligible for selection to the Spring All-Academic Team.

Student-athletes who competed in winter championship varsity sports who met the same academic criteria during the spring semester also are eligible for selection to the Spring All-Academic Team.

The conference releases both a fall and spring academic team. Winter sport athletes are eligible for both terms, while all other
