ADAMS -- The Adams Free Library will be closed Wednesdays, beginning Aug. 22, while the library employees receive training and prepare the 40,000 item collection for circulation on the regional network. The library received a grant to assist in upgrading their membership from Online Affiliation to Mini-Net Membership in the Central/Western Massachusetts Automated Resource Sharing System, or C/W MARS. C/W MARS is a consortium of 155 public, academic and special libraries that circulate more than nine million items annually to more than one million borrowers.

Circulation on the new system will begin sometime this fall. We thank all our patrons for their patience while we work to improve library services.

The hours until further notice will be: Mondays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and beginning Sept. 8, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
