NORTH ADAMS -- Even though the holiday season is behind us, the goodwill in North County goes on as donations continue to arrive for Northern Berkshire Santa Fund. The tally currently stands at just shy of $24,000.
The goal for this year is $25,150, all of which will be used to buy toys for needy children in the area. As always, all donations will be gratefully accepted, and none are too small or large. All are tax-deductible. The distribution dates for toys will be announced to the selected families.
The nonprofit Santa Fund is in its 54th year and is run entirely by volunteers. As has been the tradition, the Transcript will print a list of all donations as they arrive, as well as your brief holiday greetings or memorial messages. The Santa Fund has provided gifts to more than 500 children a year for the past three years in a row.
Please send your donations to: Northern Berkshire Santa Fund, c/o the North Adams Transcript, 85 Main St., Suite 2, North Adams MA 01247, or drop them off in the large gift-wrapped box at the front counter of the Transcript and Advocate building.
