NORTH ADAMS -- American Legion Auxiliary Frank R. Stiles Unit 125 held its annual Christmas party Dec. 12, at the Hub Restaurant, with eight members attending.
President Gail Nelson welcomed all, and a short business meeting was held before dinner was served. A quick installation of officers was conducted by Nelson. Chaplain Tammy Lussier offered a prayer for all in the military and thoughts of the Christmas season and the coming New Year.
Donations were made to the Scholarship Christmas Tree, resulting in a net profit of $20.
Veterans Affairs: Several members participated in the Veterans Day ceremonies. Lussier and Alice Coody marched in the parade.
The Christmas Gift Shop at the Northampton VA Medical Center was held Nov. 27. Lussier, Coody and Nelson attended.
The Unit donated 155 gifts valued at $1,200 and Nelson thanked those who had donated most of the gifts -- Patti Lentine, Coody, Lussier, Janet Pertierra (as well as Nelson).
Bingo parties were held Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12. Hats, shirts, canteen books, puzzle books, pudding, cookies and drinks were provided by the Unit, with Coody attending the Bingo parties, along with Clementine Brothers, senior vice director of District 1.
On Nov. 8, $25 was given for Personalized Christmas Gifts, which provides Christmas gifts for every patient.
Lussier and her grandchildren picked up flags at the city's cemeteries in November.

Membership: The Unit has 67 members paid as of Dec. 1. Reminder notices have been sent out. The auxiliary is in need of more active members to participate in its activities.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 6.
