ADAMS -- A spaghetti supper to benefit Cops for Kids with Cancer, in recognition of Anna Arabia of North Adams and all kids with cancer, will be held on Monday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Bounti-Fare.
Adults $10 and seniors and children $7. There will be a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffles. Tickets can be purchased at the North Adams Police Department.

Andrew Homestead, a former North Adams police officer, will runin the 2013 Boston Marathon for Cops for Kids with Cancer. Homestead is running in recognition of Anna Arabia, who he says is an inspiration to him, while battling cancer she continues to smile and that keeps him running.
Cops for Kids with Cancer recently helped Anna and her family, with the purchase of ramps for the outside of their home and a chairlift to get her up and down the stairs. Anna’s
"We are so grateful to Cops for Kids, and Chairman Bob Faherty and Andy, who met us at Dana Farber and presented us with a check to help with these items and more not covered by insurance," Anna’s mother said in the news release announcing the dinner. "This great organization is focused on getting money raised out quickly to families facing costly expenses. In our case, they gave Anna the mobility she needed to be able to enjoy being a kid."
Cops for Kids
Cops for Kids with Cancer, www.copsforkidswithcancer.org, takes applications through police officers and board members to help with the financial burden facing these families. Some of what they have supported include paying rent and insurance costs, covering the costs of travel for treatments, including gas, hotel and meals, and the many medical supplies and co-pays not covered by insurance.
In 2012, 71 families each received $5000. Since 2008, CFKWC has given to 200 families in need, totaling $1 million and over $115,000 was given to hospital oncology units.
