NORTH ADAMS -- Berkshire Family And Individual Resources (BFAIR) have announced they have been accredited for a period of three years for its Community Services: Community Integration programs by the international certification body, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
The latest accreditation is the fifth consecutive three-year accreditation CARF has awarded to BFAIR's Day Habilitation program.
CARF is an agency that establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services in rehabilitative facilities.
By receiving a three-year accreditation, BFAIR has put itself through a peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that it's day habilitation program and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable, according to a press release.
"Our approach is people-first and this model of service delivery is embraced by our outstanding staff," said Program Director Theresa Biagini. "I am not surprised that the CARF survey team remarked in their report that the passion and teamwork of our staff shine through in the people served by our program."
BFAIR is a nonprofit organization providing services for people with developmental disabilities, autism and traumatic brain injury.
