WILLIAMSTOWN -- The 17th annual Run for a Cure will be held Sunday, April 28, at 2 p.m.
The run is meant to bring together students, faculty, parents, alumni and community members to raise awareness for cancer. Almost everyone on campus knows someone who has been affected by cancer. This day is dedicated to celebrating survivors and remembering those loves ones who have passed away due to cancer.
The race has another purpose -- to raise money for the American Cancer Society for fund scientific research in hopes of finding a cure for cancer. The participants get sponsorships from friends and family.
All proceeds from the day are donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Matt Stauffer, a Williams College student and all-star athlete who list his battle to cancer in 1996.
