NORTH ADAMS -- The 60th reunion of the Drury High School Class of 1953 was held Sept. 27 to 30.
The class, with 205 graduates, was the largest in the history of Drury.
A gathering was held at the American Legion with approximately 54 in attendance on Friday evening.
On Saturday night, 42 classmates and 32 spouses/guests attended a dinner and a program at the Williams Inn in Williamstown.
During the program, a list of 71 known deceased class members was read by Christine O'Connell Montesanti and Concetta Angeli Duval. The class song and the alma mater were sung by the group, accompanied by Carolyn Lamoreaux Wittkowski on guitar and Edward "Guy" LaBonte.
The reunion committee consisted of Sandra Primmer Cozzaglio, chairwoman; Barbara Cummings Marley, treasurer; Shirley Primmer Norman, secretary; Mary Richards, Al Coury, Marian Ouellette Pitoniak, Ray and Marilyn Cimmonetti, Arlene Jolly O'Neil, and, Albert and Claire Barcomb.
Classmates came from Washington, Tennessee, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Florida, Georgia, and Michigan. Locally the classmates came from North Adams, Lee, Pittsfield, Adams, and Cheshire.
